OMFG New ride @ Thorpe Park
Went thorpe park today. I went on that new ride.
260 feet high, 0 - 80MPH in 2.62 seconds. Absolutely fucking incredible, i had to ride it over and over!
The g force Amazing, like being in a fast car....but really fookin fast like. If that's how an F1 car feels, then i understand why people drive them
Highly recommend.
I presume R.I.T.A @ Alton Towers is the same as this one, that does 0-80 launches in the same time

Looks good by UK standards, but a bit poncy compared to this one.....
http://themeparks.about.com/od/photo...ingkavideo.htm
That's just 456ft high and does 128mph (in 3.5 seconds!!).

Ours are restricted for safety. You look at USA's safty record for theme parks.....shocking compared to ours.....but maybe thats something to do with them being american

One example was a roller coaster, can't remember where, but some poor guy was trapped in it, the restraint wouldn't release him and the coaster carried on into the service area, but the framework of the ride wasn't designed to carry a person into that part and had low overhead bars, so crushed him.
Quite a fascinating wesbite though.

Also, that sight is dead interesting, I was looking at it earlier. Not the one I found before, but still quite an interesting read.

Alton Towers are limited by their tree line sadly, hence why they have to dig down.

They have had plans in the pipeline for YEARS for an awesome wooden roller coaster, but cannot proceed with it.
Shame really as world class rides are now reaching heights the they won't be able to follow due to their restrictions. Kingda Ka is over 400ft high!!!

As far as I know the woody will go ahead eventually.
I used to know bits and bobs about what was going on as I built the RideRita website and used to maintain the main AltonTowers site when I was freelancing.
