.....in Stockton on Tees. My mate got chatting to a girl the other night who said her brother/boyfriend (can't remember which) runs a garages mainly working on Cosworths.

I haven't rang yet as I wanted to guage opinion on it.

Anyway know of them or if they are any good?

they do not just work on cossies the owner gary owned one and dabbles a bit in buying and selling rs turbo's
they are a cheap mot place and general servicing don't take your cossie there whatever you do matt.
Dave allwood in marske(490860) is the nearest cossie specialist to us I have used him for years very knowlegeable and his place is an alladins cave of parts!!
just hope you speak to him on a good day!!

dont know anything about this swift bay, but my mate used to have an es cos, the engine was built buy graham goode, and he wouldnt let anyone but dave allwood touch it, he swore buy him, so i agree with steve, take it to allwoods.

Paul, daves long retired now,his garage has new owners doing general car stuff, I got on great with him and he was a mass of knowledge back in the days and had good contacts in ford at borham and mike Taylor developments, which is how he ended up with so many competition orintaited parts, I saw his upstairs storage of cossie parts it would have made yours eyes water!!
I was there when he opened a box that he didn't know he had and found 29 brand new iscv in it lol
I believe his remaining stock is sat in a barn somewhere.

I tried to buy all his stock Steve

I was told he wanted to move to France ( or somwhere like that ) and wanted to sell everything in one go to save hassle

I rang his workshop and spoke to his wife who seemed happy i was prepared to buy everything and took my details and said she would talk to dave and get him to ring me but he never did

I was told that he wasnt keen on the move tho and probs would be hard work to deal with

The idea was to move to France yes but I don't think it ever happened, he had health problems which meant been away wouldn't be a very good idea, up until about a year ago he was still selling his stock off on eBay his username is diresu, he was a propper hoarder I kept tripping over a grp a square rear beam that was laid about in a passage way and next to it for years sat a new r&d box!!
I do recall you telling me you had been in touch and at the time he said he wanted it all gone so they could move so I was surprised they didn't take it further
I'm sure the stash will resurface one day..
