Default car stereo amps

i need a new amp/amps and im not sure what to get i need a sub amp with 2 channels to run 2 12in ppi subs and a 4 channel amp to run a set of 160 watt kenwwod 6x9's and front speakers, the sub amp must have a bass controller, ive been looking at alpine and kenwood amps but dont know what ones would be ideal for my system ive got £200 to spend, and how do u bridge 2 amps?

any help appriciated

lol @ dave, ive not got more than £200 to spend, was thinking of buying another 6 channel amp like my old kicker one but have been told they are not ideal for running subs

anyone know a website where they explain about amps as this is getting me all confused

I have a pair of these you can have for 75 quid if your not a badge snob! Worked fine in the Gartrac thing i wrote off

just dug them out of the car and theyre not actually Alpine amps, thought they were but theyre not

theyre Pioneer

ones a bridgeable 4 channel, model number GM-X624

the other is a bridgeable 2 channel, model number GM-X922

i know its a tall order but yes and i think ive found 2 that will be up to the job just gotta check with a guy i know who works for a ice shop to see if they will be ok for my system im pretty clueless when it comes to amps just been tryin to find out whats out there for the money i have

had a bit of luck last nite bought a scratch card and won £400 so today i went a saw a guy i know in sextons and after telling him i now have £600 to spend he recomended these amps for my system

whilst i was there i got chatting to a guy who has 10 of these amps in his chevy there made by a company which own ppi and orion so they are a good quality amp which will be more than enough to power my system

i reckon it will be very difficult to claim on a warranty unless you have it installed professionally with a certificate

the guy at sextons doesnt know what hes talking about if he made/let u buy 6x9's

good choice on the amps...if your interested i might be able to supply these cheaper for you brand new boxed with warentee

Dave...whats the model number on the MB Quartz mate? what size and power are they?

bud my mate in sextons is fitting them and setting them up and said if anything goes wrong with them the warrenty will cover it

bass he recomended the 6x9's as there goin a 306 parcel shelf and 6in speakers would be to small for the holes

cheers for the offer of gettin them cheaper but ill be gettin a good discount off the rrp of the amps and speakers

glad you got what you wanted, lucky with the scratchcard eh?

is the directed stuff good, i fancy some alpine v12 stuff, but money is tight at the minute, and i'm trying not to spend anything untill i have moved house, and been to le-mans.

suprised he recommended 6x9's for the rear, rear speakers are usually a waste of time.
