Is there any websites that list these kinda places that can be accessed by us (The Public) ?
What about disused underground tube stations ??
I fancy going for a walk

Was chatting to a mate at work and he's well up for a wander. Another mate who works at building control is going to have a look to see if anything interesting is still around in the archives, so here's hoping, but being Edinburgh it'll no doubt be developted the moment anything interesting closes

I'll bag some pics when I get up there.
There's only one way in and it's a bit of a squeeze - they collapsed all the other entrances when they abandoned, but most of the network is still accessible once you get in. There's two main parallel tunnels about 2 miles ( ) long and approx 5ft high. The rest of the mine is in a grid pattern away from the 2 main passages.
How those hard bastards worked down there I'll never know - it was all done with hand drills (think brace and bit) and gunpowder
I've only been about 200 yards inside so far, found the old furnace for ventilation and some rotten old vent doors
Some of the other ones in the area had underground stables for the pit ponies!!
Properly interested in that type of thing, but more than a little bit windy about getting trapped in there

Alan came up trumps, nice large old building near Silverknowes, 19 bedrooms. Just flashed the I.d. to the security and walked in for a nose. Was amazing house and a snip at £650,000, although the best bits weren't photographed as the N70 packed in It over looks a beach and the view from the roof is amazing, but it's been up for sale for ages
