Often I put the rear seats flat, this reduces weight. (Like why you crawl flat across a frozen pond so as not to break the ice).

wtf

The rear seat thing, It is rare that I fold them down, but it has to be said that when folded they remove a bit of weight. Vertical seats exert more downward force because the energy is focused on a smaller surface area. When horizontal, the weight is spread and so is less per Centimetre squared.

Must try this, next time im at the pod

AFPMSL I hate it when people badge there car as the better model.. And it's also stupid as fuck to put badges on the passenger side of the dashboard as when the airbag has to go off the badge itself will leave demple embeded marks in your face and probably take your left eye out.

And what about the people carriers with 6 or 7 seats that fold down? How light would one of those be with ALL (except drivers seat) folded down......it would weigh almost nothing

What a tool!

Ironically though of course, folding the rear seats forward though will shift a very tiny amount of weight a little further forward, which will increase (by a ridiculously tiny amount) the amount of grip on the front wheels of launching

With my very limited knowledge wouldnt the over infaltion of the tyre cause excess tyre wear.

Not sure (so dont shoot me down if I wrong) but wouldnt the correct tyre pressures prelong tyre life on track (well better than over inflating the would)

Less off to fill in car with airplane fuel to increase boost

the combined science gcse that kids learn for is obviously not quite up to the job is it? where's the next isambard kingdom brunel going to come from with schooling like that?

I had another thought

If take the foam out of rear seat and fill em with nos will the that help and have a ice cold water mist spray in the car, lower the atomospheric pressure inside the car so lower temps.

So my theory is you have less weight cooler temps in the car, which would in fact make your body temps cooler.

Which would give you faster reaction times

*Disclaimer if this is not true dont sue,I found it my book of science for complete pricks*

So how come when jesus walked on water he was still upright?
cos he was wearing nike air maximus! allowing him to counteract the fact that he wasn't lying down to spread the weight, this is know as the reverse of

(Like why you crawl flat across a frozen pond so as not to break the ice).

Only bother with that is then the car will be so light you just wouldnt get any traction at all. especially with all that 68bhp or so churning the wheels.

might not see too well either lol

Disspointed to see he's not folding his mirrors in for less drag.

The guy would be a tuning legend on MIG.

"I have timed the 0 - 60 at 9.3 seconds, and this shaves a couple of seconds off the standard time"

I have to try his tuning methods in my xr2. If they shaved a couple of seconds off his 0-60 imagine what they could have done for me! What on earth are reyland, nms, mad etc buggering about with bigger power engines when all the have to do is not put anything in the glovebox, flatten the seats and over inflate the tyres. Rod, I hope you're taking notes!

I thought that everyone knew about the old folding the seats flat to make the car go faster trick.

Sometimes I lay all the seats in my car flat to gain that extra bit of speed, yes I can no longer see where I am going but for the few seconds before I drive into something, the car is definitely faster.
