During the 80's Roscos use to build and run a pair ofvery clean and quick RS 1800's they use to rally, especially remember them on the early days of the Promenade stages rally Held on New Brighton promenade and also at Aintree Race course when they use to have about 4 stage rallys a year !
A couple of cars I can remeber them competeing against were
Twin engined VW Scirocco Driven by Kim Mather
Ex works HSV Chevette Driven by Derek Spayet
Ex RED 3dr sierra Think it was bdt powered and before the Cossie came out
a 6R4, Ex works TR8 and Rover Vitesse, Howley racing mini's

There used to ba a dissused loonybin in Banks near Southport called Greaves Hall, it was well spooky going to look round there but now they have ripped it all down and built a massive housing estate , the actual hall is a listed building but the local chavs have set fire to it about 3 times now so its just left to rot or fall down witch ever is the soonest .
Has anyone got the latest Call of Duty on the PS3? The level were you are walking round Chernobyl is very realistic, I would love to go round there, obviously covered up against the radiation though.

Hi mate I was prob only 8 or 10 at the time but images like those I will never forget !
We use to have along standing joke with one of the drivers back then about his mk1 Escort !
My dads friend had a gen steel bubble arched mk1 twin cam but the engine was removed from new but had a x/f on 45's fitted, well this car was red with a yellow diagnol stripe just behind the doors, we went to a meet a aintree at the beginning of 85 i think and there was a mk1 rally car exactley the same colour red with the same yellow stripe and on 7" revolutions the same as my dads friends 2 meetings later my dad and his friend put a extra white stripe infront of the yellow on we turned up at aintree and the owner of the rally car had done the
same
Bring back stage rallying at Aintree

do you remember the RAC going to aintree in 85 i think it was???
they still have events at aintree bud... sprints and track days.. ive organised a few multi forum meets there... its not a bad venue for meets... food, drink, toilets and a good car park!

Yes i do remember, think it was the same year Widnes had a time check at the town hall and also MCD rallying (now RED) got away with some cheeky servicing at there workshop in Widnes while everybody else was at Burtonwood services
Yes been to Aintree recently for the odd trackday and sprint (spectating at both) but its a shame they are limited now too last time i heard 4 or 5 car events a year

Cool pics.
Nothing is bricked up there tho im pretty sure.
that was the terminus, it ended there.
The other direction goes to the outside IIRC (the tunnel enterance you can see up in the air on some outside pics), tho i expect they have secured it at some point!

i actually have a friend who knows the guys at roscoe very well
they are very awkward people to get to know if you know what i mean but that place is a gem been in there a few times and if only the walls could talk
bet they would have some stories
they also still have some mk2 essy,s at mo they are doing inc a rs i beleive
but like i say the guys there are very err eccentric lol which is why not many people have seen the insides lol
i am also told that there are a lot of hidden shafts and tunnels in there that have been bricked up also seem to remember some archeological dudes wanted to poke there noses round and have a look but he wouldnt let them lol
there are a lot of old story,s about ppl getting murdered etc in there and also parts of it have links to tunnels under the mersey to wirral side in particular priory wharf (birkenhead) were some of the earliest monks lived and built a small monastry
they were also responsible for the first ever commercial crossings over the mersey in small coracles (nuttaz) this is how they existed and made money from travellers etc
there are miles of tunnels in wirral that link up to others in liverpool we used to walk round them as kids and get lost etc very spooky
but these were all made by monks so they were never seen
and in later years were added to by smugglers as the tunnels go out to the seafront aswell
sorry to bore everyone lol
