Default Mapper Question

Are all RS2000 ecus mappable.

If so

as there is no manual timing on my type of car can the ignition be retarded in the programming, as im forced induction and N/A would be do far advanced wouldnt it

its EECIV so yes its mapable (but then so's the twinky) but it wont reference against boost, so you won't be able to get decent driveability.

what you want is an ignition retard unit like the EMS5 or EMS6 (google) which is a piggyback module that will advance/retard the timing foryou for on-boost.

that way you get your decent driveability, and your on-boost safeness

Jim only some eec 4s are mappable, however the reason is to move to coil pack as rs2000s run edis 4 .
Wondering if it could retard to to run turbo engine, as for fueling i only need a little extra squirt so i use a MSD 5th Injector.

Looking at megasquirt but some people are ify but it is fully mappable, other alternative is to spend the money and go MBE

you can only retard the ignition like a ultiplier, so you'd get shit driveability off boost (think of it like a non-vac advance dizzy and you twist it, you retard the ignition EVERYWHERE)

i'd say megasquirt would run a twinky turbo fine. but if you dont wanna go down the management change route, go for an adon bit of kit like the like the EMS.

i wouldnt personally swap to RS2K ecu, as you'd need to get the whole lot professionally remapped which would be vey pricey, and even after all that it STILL wouldnt be a very good solution.

I would say Megasqquirt would be the ideal solution here, especially if you are on a budget.

Looking at megasquirt already, Ratty has built a v3 up ready, for either mine or to change the track car from carbs to injection,

Just need to redo the loom and get wideband, deffo going coil pack
