Got some pills for her after ringing the vet explaining the script, we dont want to take her as she is tender around the belly/backlegs area and wont make it into the car unless i want my arm biting off, and we point blank refuse to pay the call out fee to get the vets here.
Harsh i know but i have never been able to understand or comprehend why it costs less for me to get fixed up by a Doc than an animal does by an animal Doc.
If she gets much worse then yes i will take her up and reluctantly pay the rip off fees.

A tip for getting her in the car without being bitten.... use a crepe bandage as a muzzle..... put the bandage over her muzzle and tie it with one knot under her mouth, then bring the 2 ends up behind her ears and tie them in a bow.

Had to do this with a Jack Russell bitch we had once, when we took her to the vet, or tried to clip her nails.

How old is she?

Hope the pills work for her.

She's 11
Took her to the vets the other month for a booster and check up and he thought she was only 5 or 6.

Is she a terrier X as 11yrs is deemed as quite young for them.

My last 2 terriers died aged 16 and 19.

I do hope that the medication works and prolongs her life a lot longer.

If its your best friend then why not pay to have her checked out??? she may be in constant pain

Its cheaper for you because of the NHS. You work and pay Taxes... your dog doesn't. Thought that was pretty obvious!

As above really. I cannot believe that someone you refer to as your best friend can be allowed to just sit and wait for the inevitable.

She has a chance, so just take her to the vets. Simple as.

My Mum has just had to make the painful descision to have her German Shepherd put down. He was 13 years old and his head was writing cheques that his body couldn't cash. He was in a bad way and struggling to stand up, poor thing. He couldn't control his bladder/bowels. It is heart-wrenching and an awful prospect, but when they need veterinary care, you should get them sorted and if their suffering is so bad, you should allow them a little dignity.

You mustnt have read much, she's been seen today and re-prescribed some pills.
She's had a heart murmur for a few years, and vet seems to think that the heart at times aint doing its full job, he has prescibed some drugs that should ease the strain on the heart and still give her a good quality of life but added that she could live on for another 2 weeks or 2 years dependant on how she reacts to the drugs and the other fact of if the heart wants to pack in it will pack in.
