the way your team attacked today
they just got to the edge of the box and ...fuck,what do we do now
think about it though.....
Lumplard and Carrick playing in the centre with Gerrard ahead of them, behind the striker/s.
Gerrard is quick, strong and can finish

He's a world class holding/defensive midfielder, but he's no rooney replacment, we havent got anybody thats a DIRECT replacment, we have fast forwards with quick feet and a good shot, but nobody with his power or strength.
I'd be tempted to leave owen (if fit) up on his own and play joe cole and wright-phillips as attacking midfielders/forwards, doing alot of running with the ball and creating chances between them.
or stick 'bambi on ice' up front with owen and serve in a few cross', old hat I know but you have best of both worlds with owens pace and bambi's height

Martin, seriously you cant be sober
Regardless of how MY team played today, you couldnt replace Rooney with Gerrard.
Do you understand how football works....?
Not exactly hard for Gerrard to shine when the whole of the liverpool forward have had a shite season...

We have PLENTY of attacking midfielder's to choose from to do the running/creating, let him do the passing and mopping up

Thankyou, admittedly our frontline has been a little poor, but still we are only 3 points behind united and have an FA Cup final to play in
As for not having a replacement for Rooney, i couldn't agree more, which i why the team will need to be shook up a little. Sven has a habit of picking names rather than players for positions,
A midfield of Cole,Lampard,Carrick and Beckham with Stevie G in front of them would be awesome, trust me
If your such the football genius, tell me what you would do???
bearing in mind Sven WILL have becks on the right

Do you watch Gerrard play?? [/qoute]
No mate, aint got a telly.
thats good, but we need players of better quality doing the mopping up at international level, for me lampard is the superior attacking midfielder, which his performance this season has showed, more goals and assist's than you can shake a stick at,so he would get my vote for sitting behind the front 2, play a diamond with gerrard just infront of the back 4, beckham on the right, cole on the left, lampard, then whoever's fit upfront, either bambi with owen or defoe and owen.

Gerrard has just scored his 2nd goal against Villa today, watch match of the day and tell me he's not an attacking midfielder
2nd goal was an absolute screamer

I'd luv to see sven be brave and put Gerrard up front with lampard playing in the middle of the park
