BUT without us members it would be like the original passionford before Stu persuaded all us RSBB members who were fucked off with the MODS and the speed,here to PF....As it grew so did costs and responsibility...So Gold membership was introduced to save it..to which i am one.Also Moderators where voted in.

NOW as a contributer i want a say in how this board is run...surely as we the members are what make it...also not forgetting the non members...they probably make it more as they are the majority!

So as a gold member i want ALL moderators here say once every 3 months to have a vote put through by contributers only on wether we want them to continue in there job.I feel this is very fair...as it will calm certain mods down plus it will make them far nicer and not abuse powers as they will know they WILL be outed by US the contributers.

Please members have your say...many may not give a shit...but i say think about the general state of this BB we can end this bitcheness NOW.

How would you rate a moderators performance tho ?

 

Dan thats up to the gold members......if we say have a vendetta against one...there must be a good reason.

 

If they ban you, sign up with a new username and vote them out

 

why dont maybe have people who would like to mod to poss do it for a month then every month have someone different

this will give the people who want to do it a chance

know its not what your on about but it looks like so many people want to do it if they do a good job could keep them

Your plan is floored from the start.

It takes a good few months for new Mods to find there way around the board, and they all go on a little power trip and move things that rightly need moving, but are usually overlooked by others. They are trying to make an impression.

Now if you were wanting to redo it every 3 months then the board would get a hell of a lot worse.......

Why change what isnt broken and runs very well except for a few run-ins that happen on most BB's ?????

Tiff if they act like mature reponsible people they WONT get outed..simple.

Remember there are PLENTY of people wanting this job...though maybe not so many if we have my system!!!!!SOME want it for the power...we need to get them off the panel.

 

If members have a serious grievance with any other member or admin then shouldn’t they contact another admin member to try and resolve the situation… that’s if there is a legitimate claim… we need to be careful that this doesn’t become a Witch hunt, a way of getting rid of somebody who just doesn’t agree with you. The way I see an admins role is to police the forum without using his/her powers with any bias or to help themselves, there cant be one rule for one and different for others. They don’t have to be liked to be doing a good job.

Fair enough one or two posts about specific moderators...but I don't want to log on in future to Phil dressed up as Simon Cowell in Mod Idol...bloody hell..
Plus all the ''liked'' moderators would probably get fed up with having to be ''kept in'' every few weeks (after some sort of public text vote ) then there would be nobody left...to actually moderate the posts on the site...?

 

I actually half agree. I have never been affected by a mod being "Hilterish" but I have seen it a bit On the over hand I agree with Tiff in that, for the most part, it aint broken. Maybe some kind of Gold Members only vote every 6months? 3 is prob too short.

Phil, get the facts right.... the RSOC bb was offline and no-one knew when or if it would reurn, so that's when Stu started up PF with Petrucci, he didn't 'persuade' anyone.

 

Sean.....its not like say westy for example could out Mr Manchester...he would need the support of the majority of Gold members.

This is NO witch hunt...Mr Manchester has done nowt to me.....BUT in a vote i would vote him off because of his mannerism...but thats not saying ALL members feel the same..the majority counts.

We had it with the 2 room situation...we choose how we wanted it..the majority said....we need this decision with the mods too

Lynne we never went back did we?..I beleive this board was started whilst the RSBB was live...it died shortly afterwards yes...maybe persuaded is the wrong phrase...but some love this board dearly enuff to pay to keep it goin

Plus i agree with maybe 3mths is too short 6mths sounds better.

 

Adrian..for example...you,eagle,tiff are 100% safe imo..you do your job well

 

so in that way of fairnesss .. anyone who has been banned can not vote either as they are biased against the person they are voting against ..

agree with tiff tho .. its nice to get this position as i feel i have helped in running this site .. its not an easy task to do ..

there are a few people interested in doing the job i agre but all the mods had a small discussion about this very subject and in reality only about 2 were deemed to be suitable.

i am very gratefull stu gave me a chance to do this job ... but if its going to be a witch hunt every few months as someone has been banned for flouting the rules i think you will find that there wont be many to replace the ones who are demed by the aggreived to be wrong...

 

At the very least its pretty obvious Mr Manchester should be voted upon...as obviously there is a lot of posts questioning his ethics...start here let the gold members decide...i dont care if its left till people start bleating...fair do's....For example RSGus...he would have for sure been voted out...i feel many mods would have like that too!
