buying paint to spray a car
im going to have a crack at painting my car. how do i go about getting hold of the paint and thinners.
are most paints cellouse now?
not really sure where to start tbh. but there is only 1 way to learn and i have a car im going to get scrapped. so i'll nick the panels off that and practice.
ive been told that i should start with about 50/50 paint and thiners.
and for the final coat give it a nice thin one something like 70% thiners to 30% paint.
does that sound about right?

find a paint suppliers mate
get the paint you want, 2pac or cellulose
and get a mixing ruler on this is the paint mixtures for the above
4-1 mix on celly and 2-1 on 2pac
obvioulsy it measures where you put the pain upto then activator and thinners
this is also for primer aswell
id buy some mixing cups aswell as once you work the measurements out on the ruler and in the cups its the rite amount for the gun aswell

cheers mate.
i think there is one not to far from me. i'll pop down there and get the stuff as soon as the weather improves a bit.
so i'll need:
paint, thiners, primer, mixing cups, mixing ruler
along with various wet and dry and i think i have a tub of filler in the garage already.

if you are using 2k paint guys you WILL need to wear an air fed mask, DO NOT use these paint types without, or you will end up with work related asthma, which you wont even know you have untill you cant breath in 20 years time, i have seen it happen!!!
If you dont have air feds use celly paint as it has no isyacyanites in it, you may get away with a carbon type mask with this paint.

50% paint, 25% thinner, 25% hardener with a build coat for 2k. bake at 60 degrees for 25mins., with 10min flash off intervals.
Note celly has no hardener, hence its not deadly like 2k

you should paint a whole car with 3 coats, 2.5 litres of colour , you may find coverage is better if you colour the primer first ,this also stops stone chips being as noticable.

i think im going to use cellouse paint.
seams like an easier option for now.
i just wana to blow it over and smarten it up a bit.
need to do some filling so that will need painting. also most the panels are different colours, different colours of red and some have gone orange.
as long it it dont go really bad it will come out better than it looks now.
