Default Sick cossie

Just got myself a mint 4x4 saff cossie running stage 3,its recently had a rebuild and last week it was set up at carwise and has been running a1,got in it sunday morn to go to santa pod and the bastard took ages to start,and when i did get it started it was puffing out loads of black smoke and wouldnt tick over properly,plugs were piss wet and it stunk of fuel,any ideas with the prob its doing my head in, most likely to be summat simple!
