Default Possibly a daft question about rods....

You see specs for big power cars, like 300bhp RST's, and most of em list "steel rods"

So if you don't have these "steel rods" - what are your rods made from?

Like std rods - what they made from?

They are all steel...

but what usually happens is they change the design

if you look down at the engine from the front (think YB) the conrods are an I--I or H shape.

Steel rods are better spec material and often change the orientation of the beam to I shape.

So they are all made from steel, just "different" steel?

Sounds like a con to me

Nah, I was just pondering it, and thought there's no way they could be made from iron, as that would simply be too heavy, surely?
