Default Car Insurance / MOT Display Disk

Every week we read news paper articles about drivers who have no insurance, no mot, no license, so why not a simply disk on the car windscreen that shows you have all these documents, these could be obtained at the same time as your road tax and costs would be minimal, I know of several just schemes that run in European countrys and that has reduced this type of problem by 50%, so do add your thoughts and ideas and opinions.

Yep, good idea, although an excuse to screw the motorist over more with admin costs - if it did curb the problems though it would be 100% worth it.
Doesn't help when people with licenses can't fucking drive to save their lives though
Ask the guy in the pug 106 I overtook on the way to Ford Fair who thought closing the gap up I was pulling into and beeping at me would be a good windup - he obviously didn't think about the concept of being forced off the road by a 1.3 tonne V6 Sierra had he succeeded in closing the gap up in order for me to save the lives of the people coming the other way due to his stupidity....

Thats a good idea, when you go to get you tax, you get a sticker showing you have insured you car, mot'd it etc...

Good thinking that man!

The DVLA in Northern Ireland issue a tax disk style disk when a vehicle has got a valid PSV (MOT).

Everything else to do with motoring is the same as our system so its true, I dont see why the DVLA dont sort it out.

Every insured car is on the MID list which the Police can check immediately with their little walkie talkies.

However, I can't even be arrised to keep swapping me trade plates around in cars without tax. When you do show them its like a big sign for the five-o to pull you over. But thats another story.

You can buy a secndhand car with tax on it, it does not mean you are insured or have a license. Have you sold a car and seen the buyers license or proof of insurance ?.
