Default oil cooler on cos question

am i rite in thinking that when you fit an oil cooler you get rid of the standard oil warmer and relace with a sandwich plate

what happens to the water pipes

does th epipe go straight from head into heater matrix instaed of going to the oil warmer?

Heres a couple of pics of the one i've just fitted to my Escort. Space was the dictator on size for me as to get a bigger one in behind the bumper vents would have meant removing the washer bottle. Didnt really want to do that on a road car so went with the narrower version and managed to get it in behind the centre vent of the bumper

I am just going to make up a hose that goes from the Head to the matrix.

You might loose some oil pressure as well when you fit it

Good luck.
