Default why do ppl do this on cossies??????

why do ppl put air filters like this on cossies without the pipe? having the air filter this close to the turbo cant be good can it? or is there a reason for it? just always wondered

As a rule, I'd say people don't normally fit air filters like that on a Cossie, although quite common on Japanese cars.

Don't really think it makes that much of a difference, thats the first one i've seen like that on a Cosworth

With it being much closer to the turbo / manifold i think more hot air would be drawn in only guesing though as i hav never seen one on a cossie before either

the only time i seen that on a cosy engine is when in mk1/2 escorts due to there no room for the pipe

dont supose its going to be much difference but could be wrong

i had one similar on my cossie engine until i had my induction pipes made up,didnt feel any different once id put the proper bits on.
