What happens if you go past a Gato, speeding, but on the opposite side of the road to what the camera is on? Can it still get you?
from what I understood he was saying that the camera was positioned to capture motorists comming in the other direction.
As he passed it it went off but this would have captured a picture of his front plate as he would have been facing the camera.
That said even if they did get the plate they still dont prosecute on comming cars with gatsos.

I mean you are driving, and its on your side of the road with the lines. You swerve onto the other side of the road where this not another camera or any lines, would it still be able to capture you?
This is all hypothetical of course

I was right then
If there's no lines you might get away with it, but they might just point to the adjacent lines and do you.
To be honest I question the mentality of anyone who speeds past a camera on the wrong side of the road, thinking they'll get away with it
They might also give you a friendly dangerous or wreckless driving charge for that

i think you will find you have to pass over the loop detector that is cut into the road surface as you approach the camera to set it off. on a 2 way traffic road the loop is on the side of the camera.on a dual carriage way the loop covers both lanes.
