swing the alternator clockwise a bit, drill a new hole in the cast bracket, and use some washers as shims, find a slightly shorter belt and job done

Or you could use a tie bar thing like the sierra cossies have between the bracket and the alt?

why would a shorter belt be a problem? Dunlop make belts which vary in 10mm lengths

Surely it needs to adjust in some way though or its a new belt every time it stretches a tad

Self tensioning poly-vee belt Jules - the tensioner is the pully thing just to the right of the alty, 15mm spanner on the nose nut and press clockwise to slacken and it will spring back into place to tension

i take it you didnt get if from brise ?

they will swap housings for you if its really something you need,

whats so special about it ?

hmm dont hold your breath pal, my past experiance with brise alternators has been dodgy to say the least, i found ( using non poly v tho ) after i had lowered the alt( lower than the RS500 drop) and also slowed the alt down in its spinning speed that sorted my heat probs.

i kept getting voltage drop when the heat built up, ended up at 12v at times.

I have had the same problems with voltage drop on them Mark.

In the end I went back to standard and put a bigger pully on it, that sorted me out nicely
