Anyone know anything about "meta tags"?
We have had our works website tested for "meta tags" and apparantly our web page is'nt getting pulled up by the search engines. Does anyone know how these work and how we could make it better?

TBH they make very little difference these days, most search engines pretty much ignore them.
The actual content is more important.
got a link?
i can offer you some advice if i see the page?
Stupid question, but how often do you submit it?

Ah, VERY obvious whats wrong there mate!
The "enter stows" page is fucking shite, its got no text at all to say whats going on, search engines will take no notice of that at all.
The metatags are actually fine, but it needs text on the page.
Even if its only something very basic like
"Please click the link about to enter stows, where you will find cycles, parts, accessories, clothing"
Or something like that.
Basically you need that very first page to have actual useful text on it.
You can get round it a bit by submitting subsequent pages in their own right of course.

IF you have load and loads of them all pointing to the same place, they will get ignored as spam potentially.
Far better to focus on just one.
And once its sorted you want to visit google each day and put in "cycles bike shop" and then wherever Stowes page appears on the list, click it, cause they use that to determine rank, do it from as many IPs as possible.
Getting a good ranking takes a lot of effort.
I can put you in touch with a company who will do search engine submissions etc for you on a daily basis, but obviously they charge to do this!
There may be some free online service that does it but i dont know anything about that.

You need good secure protocols on porn sites, cause there is no hacker more determined than a 14 year old nerd with a hardon
