Jim have you had this mapped yet?

On a NA i believe the ign timing has some control over how hot the engine runs, has your ign timing been mapped as well as the fueling ?

andy, no its not been mapped.

but here'smy thinking.

the cams are VERY mild (ie you can run them on a stock car stock ECU etc) so in theory i should notice very little difference when theyre fitted.

but the difference is HUGE (negatively) it feels awful to drive.

ok updates:

drained out LOTS of oil (it had been overfilled)

changed leads - no difference

tried loading the base map back on the ECU. still ran shit... lol

here's a funny one, on light throttle at about 2k rpm (ish) its got a huge flatspot and goes mega-lean. (shows about 20:1 afr) adding more fuel does correct this (ie its not reading lean due to missed ignition events). i'm sure it wasnt like that before, id have noticed!

andy, not necessarily, mass production remember

anyway, mine are just rang kent, the inlets have a groove on the bearing journal.

theres a 3/4 chance i've got it wrong!

i hope thats what the problem is!

there will be no markings on your standard cam because they are the same

i'd rather have an idea where to look tho mate, i dont want to take any of them out if theyre in the right way round (as i may only have 1 bank wrong) and if i dont know where to look im gonna have to whip all 4 out and have a good look round em
