if you can get it to someone who's got a jig to straighten it out you can always replate any bent bits to give them their strength back
then it's just mechanicals
but it doens't look too over the top to me to be repairable, but then again, you've got to look at the rest of the car and see if it's not bent anything else, lik the whole side of the whole corner

if the rest of the shell is MINT and has no rust then id say its worth repairing it mate, if its a bit crusty or had had alot of work done on it then its proably worth reshelling it into a clean little 1.3 bonus or something....

With what you say it needs doing before the repairs I saddly must say it would be in your intrestes financially to break it to recover some of the costs and get hunting for a replacement

I know how you feel mate. I was determined to repair mine and put it back on the road and mine drives fine. Can't help but wish I had taken the advice when I was in the situation

dont actually work in a paintshop... even if you did manage to do it yourself (not quite as straight forward as wing/front panel) you still have to buy the panel....
Its not the 1/4 panel which is the main concern really... its more the damage to wishbone/tie arm/damper mounts also one of the pics shows a fair amount of corrosion on the inner arch..

First thing- TWAT MATE VERY HARD with something you have removed off the car wheel etc
Second- If and when you take that qtr off theres a good chance its gonna be worse than you think
I cut of a wheel arch with 1 rust bubble and I was amazed how bad it was underneath, best bet get a nice shell and make an amazing, clean S2 or like other people have said just salvage parts and buy a clean standard car
Shame whichever way you look at it

...............
I reshelled my S2 nearly 10 years ago. I remember looking at one shell that looked mint. The car had slid it into a kerb on the O/s rear, same as yours. There was no visible damage externally but when you looked closer you could see the inner strut top was miles out. I didnt look any further but most probably the suspension pick-up points were out as well. Even then lots of S2's were rotten so finding a good one now is not gonna be an easy task. I'd say break what you have and buy a complete goodun.
