New Cam fitting - Camlube?
ok ive got some cams that are all oily, and thats it. am i gonna need to get hold of some camlube? (ps theyre regrinds)
i just got told that you just pop a bit of engine oil on there, does this person know what hes talking about or not? i dont want to risk my engine for the sake of a tube of lubricant
and whats the running in procedure, 2500rpm for how long?

I would use cam lube. Are you using new followers as well? Did kent not recomend / supply anything?
Thing is not to let the engine idle for about 20 mins. After that you should be run in.

Get some Cam Lube. Its like a grease in texture. You smear it on the lobes. Then as above run the car for 20 mins at 2500 RPM. Straight from start up. Then turn it off. The Lube will disolve into the oil, so I would recommend changing that before taking a test drive.
DO NOT let the engine idle AT ALL. So as soon as its running get the revs up. Also as above I assume you have new followers?

I think you will find that Kent's Cam lube is Gearbox oil or ATF or something very similar.
I would have used something like that, something that's a bit thick and gloopy, then drop the oil within 50 miles or so of running the cam in.
I have seen a type of grease used too, but not sure what it is. The main thing is that it is thick, so it is still on the lobes after you have assembled the rest of the engine and got it started.
