Turbo experts help please..T34/.63 - T38 - GT30

Default Turbo experts help please..T34/.63 - T38 - GT30

Hi All

Can anybody explain to me the in car feel of these turbos t34/.63 (TurboTechnics stage 1, 360 bearing cutback blades etc.) , T38 and a GT30. What are the pros and cons of each turbo?

I really like the way my standard T34/.63 delivers the power and would like to stay as close to that as possible but have the potential for 500+bhp (so the TT stage 1 is prob not on my list but would like to know what effect the cut back blades have anyway)

The cut back blades on the turbine wheel prevent the turbo overspeeding when pushed to its limits, T34 won't give you 500+

My HG/T38 feels like a T34.48 low down, with all the pull of a T34.63 to the limiter, but that'll be down to the whole package of engine, headwork & cam's, and mapping.

No experience of the GT30, but you should see 500 on one of those, as long as everything else is on par.

Thks Billabong ,So a T38 suffers no more lag than a T34.63 ..

Anybody else please, any experience with the GT30 ?

On a correctly specced engine for a T38 turbo you wont have much more lag than a T34. On an incorrectly specced engine you will have bags of surge and driveability issues
