Default Tyre pressure monitor

Hi everyone, I fitted a Tyre pressure monitor to my BMW a few weeks ago and found it to be an excellent bit of kit I don't know what I did without it. It will monitor your tyre pressure and tyre temp
Its Ideal for high speed driving not that I do any of that
Once fitted You set the Tyre pressure to what you want and it then monitors each tyre every few seconds when driving.
Should the pressure start to go down a buzzer will sound and a light is displayed on the control panel. The same happens if the temp exceeds your desired setting. You get an extra transponer to go in the spare too. So for safe driving and track days I would recommend this Inexpensive bit of kit.

Had a look at one of these the other day. How does it measure the tyre temps, does it have sensors attached to the alloy inside the tyre or something similar?

Hi, It has a transponder that monitors the temp and pressure in each wheel. The transponer fits inside the wheel you get a full set of highspeed valves included in the kit. The battery life in the trnsponders lasts around 5 years so you can fit it and forget it.

Ive seen this kit Today, very impressive backlit LCD display that constantly monitors both tyre pressure AND temperature live, at all times, so will warn not only of a tyre losing air, but alos one thats delaminating, as they get very hot indeed. Could also be an aid to set up car weighting as you can constantly monitor your tyre temperature's... interesting to see which gets hottest under what conditions.

VERY impressive kit indeed

Bring on teh pictures!!

I had them in a "goooooona" and they were shite. Constantly saying the pressure was wrong if the tyre was warm or cold and the pressure had risen or dropped 3-4 psi.

Thats why I dont look at it too often

To be honest they show on the dash display at 30psi most of the time, and the gague I use says similar. Its a diesel too so it never goes fast enough to warm them up above that

Im sure the ones in the Tweeks bible were more expensive than £235 tho'
