I was following my mate in his sapphire cosworth today on the way to the ashdown forest for a local car meet. Anyways we are on our way up taking it slowly as we are aware of the wildlife that likes to run into the road at any time and boy it did just that. Was pottling behind my mate about 45 when a deer ran out infront of him but which he narrowly avoided then i passed the same spot and another bugger came out and caught the front offside corner of the capri denting the wing and splitting the light surround. I then pulled over as he carried on around the corner. I then get a phone call he just hit another deer round the corner but younger. I got back in my car and drove further up the road to inspect the damage. there was a baby deer lying in the road barely breathing and his saff had a dented bonnet cracked grill and split number plate. We didnt know what to do so rung the new 101 number which didnt work as we had fuck all single so we pulled deer out of road onto grass verge and i drove off until i got signal and rung the forest ranger using the operator he came and collected it in his trunk and said hed take it back to his offices and get the deer checked out. I gave him my number so he could let me know if anything is required. Anywas a little pissed cause of damaged car we drove to the meet. Then 3 hrs ago i got a call saying ther baby deer died but i did the right thing, ohh well i know this thing happens regularly just shame we got hit twice in one day

Theres a sort of unofficial gathering of motors from uckfield and crowborough at kings standings car park every friday afternoon about 6ish
There's never just one mate, if ever I see one in the road or on the verge I always crawl over the next few hundred yards as they're bloody everywhere!
It's not long after rutting season either so the fucker's will probably still be abit mad!
Think yourself lucky, I hit a fully grown Doe last Xmas (04) at 60mph in the fog!

Deer are really highly strung creatures - they can quite easily die from shock, let alone injuries
They are also pack animals, so take care - if you see one, there are likely more about to follow it!
Easy to go nuts on a forest road, but remember the deer were there first!
Neil.

I live in the middle of woods and common and dears constantly run out when driving down this one stretch of road. They run out and then stop in the road and look at you
Stupid animals had a few close misses when i first moved here had one a inch away from my bumper
looking in at me lol Now i drive down there at about 10 mph
