24v to 12v inverter, would guess that the cigarette lighter is probably 12v anyway?

thats for running mains stuff mate, plug socket on the front you just want a step down inverter, however i would check that the cigarette lighter is not 12v first.

Surely you could just get a step down converter to drop the voltage to 12V?

Like has been said though, if there's a cigarette lighter in the cab then get a voltmeter on it and see if it's kicking out 12v, should be, if it is then you can get laptop power supplies (little bricks on a lead) which should do the job.

My laptop's power supply draws up to 1.5 amps according to the sticker on the back, make sure the converter you get is man enough
