What would you do ?? Bust up at work
I work as an Administrator in a college
Theres a guy on same team as me and hes been rude and had attitude problem with me from day one
Today he approached me with attititude about a problem i sorted yesterday, he started to raise his voice to me in the office at to which i got a lil bit chewed up and upset, so i said to my manager i'm going out for a smoke.
Anyway this guy came onto the stairs as my supervisor caught up with me to see if i was ok, and he made a sexist remark towards me.
Hes been dragged into HR and spoken to about it, but not sure if i should make a proper complaint ?
What you think?

Thought you'd have flattened him by now!
But seriously, i'd make a complaint, had enough dicks at work to know that putting up with it isn't the right thing to do!

Its bullying, plain and simple.
Dont be the victim in this, make it official.
I am speaking from experience on this, having working with a guy who was agressive to me and atleast 3 other people (over a 18 month period). I spoke to out HR, but kept it unofficial. Wish I hadent, as he ended up being promoted over me and I ended up out of a job.. such is life.
I dont really know what to say to you other than, why should you suffer for him being an ass? If you do nothing, he wins.

Don't ask - I don't know

If you've got to go and see HR then tell them, but rather than go 'official' and give this prat more ammo ask if you can drag this twat to one side and talk to him yourself. More satisfaction for you and he may think maybe you're not that bad for not dragging him through the mud and problem (hopefully) sorted.
Tell him if he does it again, you'll let HR deal with it.

only you can answer as to wether you feel he deserves to be disciplined for it or not. Only you really know what happened and why he is like he is.
If you can honestly say you have done nothing to provoke any of it, then yes, go see HR.
If there is another side of the story, then everyone on here telling you to go to HR to get the bloke into trouble would be wholly unjust.
Your call really as only you know whats happened. HTH

All i will say on this is, is make sure you have maybe a little eveidence to back it up.
Get it out in the open and make the fooker sweat for little while.
oh and when your come out make sure you give him the cheekiest grin you can then sit back and watch him soil him self.

Some blokes have a problem with women being on a level with them or even being supervised by a women - these guys really need to be looking for work elsewhere if they can't handle working alongside or for women.
If you are afraid of speaking to HR about it because of recriminations then this guy is making your life a real living hell at work and therefore there is no better reason than to speak to HR.
The company has a responsibility to ensure that this kind of cave man behaviour doesn't show it's head whilst at work and if it does then it should be stamped on immediately - if not then the company could be landed in a tribunal and it costing them thousands.
They will WANT to listen to you so go and speak to them. If after that he continues to make your like hell then go to them again and basically tell them that you feel that you have no other option but to leave as the guy is making it so difficult for you to work there. That, trust me, will get more action than you could imagine.
Finally - smoking whilst at work, I sacked one of my employees recently for doing the very same.
