4x4 gearbox and diff question
there was a post not so long ago about about different fiffs
now my question is
my car runs the 3.6 diffs
im going to be using a gearbox out of a 2.9 xr4x4 which uses 3.9 diffs
will i have any issues
or will i need to use the 3.9 diffs
totally confused on all this
thanks

no pal, the box will be fine, its only if you run differant ratios front and rear.
e.g, my car will run a 4.55:1 in the rear, and a 3.64:1 in the front, so will need to adjust the step offs to suit a ratio differance of 1.25:1 between front and rear,
your setup 3.64:1 rear , 3.64:1 front is 1:1 equal diffs, therfore wont need any adjustment as the 2.0 = 3.9:1 and 3.9:1 so the step offs will be 1:1 std ratio.
does this make sence ?

I thought the XR4 x 4 and cossie had the same final drive ratio....3.62:1....
Didn't think the XR4 x 4 was on a 3.9.....
3.9 will give you better acceleration, less top end....
