Default Mid Rebuild and more questions. . . . . . ;)

(For a stage 3 saff coz, 200 block, 6 studs)

Does anybody know how you torque down a head when you have 6 studs and 2 bolts, because the bolts are obviously stretch bolts and the studs arnt - and to what torque?

Plus what are the spark plug gaps, crank sensor gaps and the phase sensor gaps.

Oh and what torque setting for the cam bearings.

Dont want a lot do i !

Thanks in advance

If you have 6 studs and 2 bolts i'd be worried - very worried

torquing down is in the normal order, and to the normal torque settings in a 3-stage tightening sequence, starting from the middle and working outwards in a zig-zag back-to-front fashion

plug gaps, if using coilpacks - 0.8mm, if using standard dizzy, 0.65mm
CPS gap - 0.2mm to 0.3mm
Phase gap - 0.3mm to 0.4mm

torque setting for camcap covers is 12Nm off the top of my head

whats studs are you usings

as i know that arp say dont go by fords torques setting and to go by theres

i asked this at a place up the road from a skyline tuners and the answer i got was each bolt manufacture will have a different setting to a ford one

so go by what the bolt manufacture recommends for torque settings

what do you mean grind a socket down?

grinding the diameter of the socket down so that it fits in the recesses in the head, this is due to the long stud bolts being a larger diameter than ford bolts

If you are going to grind one down, go buy a high quality impact socket, and then get it turned down on a lathe
