Default What Tyres?

I'm after some 195/45/15's, would do people suggest?

Need to be good for the odd track day and some fast road grippage action

If Toyo 888's are available in that size they may well be worth looking at.

Heat up nice and quick by all reports and are great on the road giving loads of grip over top branded road tyres.

They are decent enough on track, although it has been said after prelonged trackuse they overheat & go off quicker than a lot of other known branded road legal cut slicks.

Whats the difference between the Toyo proxes TR-1's and the T1-s's?

The new, natural choice for enthusiastic drivers. The Proxes T1-R boasts a special performance compound and tread pattern which gives incredible road holding in all conditions, especially in the wet. The V-shaped grooves in the tread pump water away allowing the rubber to grip the road.

These are bounded by circumferential grooves which allow the Proxes T1-R to give you even better wet grip whilst being quieter and longer lasting as well. And, whilst practical, these design elements also makes the tyre look spectacular on any car.
The Proxes T1-R is introduced in a range of the most popular high performance sizes.
It will increasingly cover more sizes from 14" up to 20" and beyond as further sizes are added.
Proxes T1-R will gradually replace the Proxes T1-S to be the ultimate tyre for performance use.

To get the best from your car and to enjoy your driving to the full you need a tyre designed and manufactured to exacting standards - namely the Toyo Proxes T1-S. With its silica-enriched rubber compound, the Proxes T1-S gives outstanding roadholding and control in the dry or the wet. This tyre also has low noise levels, gives good ride comfort and is long lasting as well as looking aggressively stylish on all cars.

cant fault my eagles. i agree with andy, that the proxies do seem to be copies of the F1s, but they wear out quicker and dont grip quite as well.

only thing is with trackdays you'll kill a tyre VERY quickly , so tyre wear wont be so much of an issue (as it'll probably kill the outside/inside edges/sidewalls WELL before the tread runs out)

The best one's i find and i know i speak for many lads in the same situation,is the
"Black Round variety".....................always find they do what they say on the tin
highly recomended as i once tried the white square one's they were useless and running directly on the rim is just not an option.
