What is the sensor that screws into the YB Block,
under the turbo, just above the breather/sump pipe .
Knock sensor?


Also, do all 4x4 cos have this?

took my engine out today, and the wire that goes to that sensor
had broken

mine is a Red top engine,, NO lambda, so i didnt think it would have a
knock sensor If thats what this is.

 

What breather/sump pipe do you mean on the turbo side mate? The oil return from the turbo??

 

If its the Knock sensor M8 it should have a cable that runs right along the Turbo side of the block, round the front and up to a plug beside the Dizzy. It should be on the same bracket as the TDC sensor plug.

i'll be needing a new knock sensor then

are they even used if the ECU has been chipped?

 

Ive seen the odd one for sale on Ebay but i always get my chips set to run with out it.
