UPDATE:

OK, now BAR have fixed some minor issues (clutch cable melting, exhaust falling off, and welded up my EGR hole ) and she's been down to GL coachworks for a suspension setup

BAR have done laods more too, theyve fitted my brakes (they feel lovely) sorted all my hoses out (i've had topboss refund me for that hose now, as BAR made one up), fixed an oil leak and just generally "sorted" the car

i'm just need to get my breather fitted (back to BAR) get a new fuel pump+filter on (again, BAR), get the cams in (saturday) and get it mapped and i THINK thatll be me ready for the ring

woohoo

only pic i've got:

i cant rememebr the brand, but i bought them off mike R and they cost a fucking fortune (i coulda bought an AP kit for the same money )

theyre 2WD fronts and 4x4 rears, but with braided lines, SRF 5.1 and pukka discs n pads

MORE than enough for my driving style, maybe not perfect for the track as i'll probably only get about 6 laps out of em before i get fade, but then it's not a track car and the engine'll overheat before the brakes fade anyway

i cant remember, but i THINK i paid about 400quid for the dics n pads. (i bought em AGES ago, just never got em fitted)

i remember it being enough for me to think "hold on, i shoulda bought APs" afterwards i know that much

mike dont sell stuff that aint pukka its just that it aint cheap either

TBH i ran standard discs/pads before (kwikfit ones too ) and there aint nothihng wrong with em. they didnt stand up to all that much abuse on track, but they were certainly better than anything i'd experienced before with the XRs, and were MORE than up to the job on the road.

I would call "shotgun", but after Bernies post, I think I'd rather be in the driver's seat .

Plus RichPON has put me off with stories about your style of driving at Bedford. The Ring has no margin for error .

I also wish you COULD get APs for Ł400 - try three times that - and that's just the front .

Also, the pads will catch fire and the fluid STILL won't boil.....

You must get a go in it Mike

I know that on paper it shouldn't amount to much, but then when you get to drive it...

Ask the lads here how big my grin was after road-testing it.

I've already booked a go when the cams are in and the mapping sorted
