Drilling a YB rocker cover for an oil seperator, where?.....
Hi everyone,
Right, I have just removed my cam cover, and I have a couple of questions. I have to drill a 5/8 hole in it to take an alloy tube for an oil seperator pipe. I was led to believe that there is a certain place it must go, or where it was designed to go, namely in this cast hole, at the back where its arrowed...................
Now the problem with this is that where the hole would come out on the other side is right smack bang in the middle of where the cover is tapered to allow the clearence of the cams, so the pipe that I have to push on won't sit flush with the top of the cover. The blue vertical line illistrates where the hole would roughly come out....................
So basically, is this where the breather pipe has to go, or is it in the wrong place????
One other thing, what is that little hole for arrowed on the second piccy?
Thanks

yes that is where you drill
not sure what the little hole is for but don't think it does anything, maybe stops a bit of pressure/condensation building up in the hollow area around the spark plug chamber
