First off all ,check the waterpump has been changed for an uprated metal (impellor) item ,as the original is plastic and are known for breaking inside and before u know it the damage is done without a reading on the temp gauge

Now as i have stated before ,some of the models did suffer engine failure and u may see a a few thats advertised with new engines (bottem end starts knocking) but there are still crackin ones out there and seems to be the ones that break 50k roughly they are fine !!

They are a very nice car for the money but i still personally think the st24 is just as good and quite a bit cheaper with a few less toys but they are still fully loaded !!

St200 saloon is the one to go for , 2 tone leather recaros that really make the interior smart and different .Plus its a limited edition that only 300 were built in the first place .

Some of them had the plate fitted inside saying the build number but some dont, also some had a limited edition badge on the tailgate but some dont ,these were put on at the dealers apparantly and i suppose some of the guys didnt bother there arse or the mechanics have then stuck on there tool boxes no doubt

Check the alternator light doesnt flash on dash at high revs as thats the first signs of its failure and are a swine to change .

All in all they are a nice car tho ,and u will love one !!

Basically ford took the st24 and tuned it and produced the st200

u can get them chipped but would prob advise to speak to motorsport developments to see what he can do for a decent gain !!

I had my st24 chipped and my mate got his st200 chipped at same time and considering we had exspensive exhaust systems and filters etc there wasnt a lot of gain ,and to the cost of the tuning stuff would say it wasnt worth it buddy !!

I had a milltek exhaust and mate had the mongoose an dboth sounded superb !!

As for induction kits ,they do nothing bar nice roar and thats it ,they are tucked behind the battery and gain nothing but heat soak and there is no real room to feed ducting hose for more cold air , just stick a panel filter in !!

Myself and my mate took the manifold off and cleaned the secondries (these open up when over roughly 2800rpm) and if they work properly u will feel the car pull a lot harder !! The secondries get very filthy with carbon and u will be amazed at whats in there ,my st24 had 60k on clock and mates st200 only had 38k and both were badly clogged up ,4 cans carb cleaner and a tooth brush and about 5 hours sorts that out !!

The control box for the secondries is right behind the front grill bolted on to manifold and can fail (hence secondies wont open) and this can even be caused by the heat from engine !! I have heard some peeps relocate it in engine bay ,never had probs with mine !!

Once u clean the secondries that engine purrs even better and u do feel a difference once its done

As already said really ............

I had the secondaries issue with an ST-24 and subsequently bought an ST-200 which soon needed lower arms !

(Metal water pump is in a box on my shelf - must get around to doing that !).
