Default Car tax Question

Right how much u paying for a year tax on your every day car?

AS i know its about £90 for 6 months for the cossie! But just had tax reminder through for my Passat TDI and its £115 for a year or £65 for 6months Thought thats a bit cheap its like its in the 1400cc bracket So i presume its going of emissions? Anyone else with a modern Derv paying about the same for tax?

IIRC, anything that is on the "New" style registration (or after 2000 can't remember which) is done on emissions

Why only after 2000. Pisses me off that people who keep their cars in tip-top condition, tuned up running nice & clean get ripped off all the fooking time: and end up paying the same or more than some piece of crap that is chucking shed loads of rubbish out of the back !! Cars as well as vans included
