Only problem will be if you start locking up the rears under braking I guess...

Try it, somewhere big of course

Just sounds like you didnt have your handbrake on and your wheel nuts were done up far too tight.

Whats he's getting at is, with the handbrake off and doing the wheelnuts up the rear wheel spun because of lack of weight in the rear of the car i.e the wheels not being pressed on to the road hard enough that he can spin a rear wheel with all 4 wheels on the ground

Mine does it some of the time just put your handbrake on when undoing them

I guess it was the right hand side wheel nut you were undoing by lifting the bar up, as that will lift the wheel if its tight

I know that and what i was getting at is that he was undoing his wheel nuts with out putting his hand brake on and obviously using alot of force on the wheel nuts. I dare say if i go outside now and do it on my car with rear seats etc in i can spin my rear wheels. I'm not going to try though because it's cold out there and i'm lazy

Matt J

What Tony is getting at is twisting the nuts off on the back by putting certain forces against the rear suspension when tightening the nuts you are actually lifting the back wheel up against the trailing arm.

Non what so ever, just put your handbrake on or ignore it, it will do no harm on the road.

Come to think of it - I can actually do it on the fronts too

Did you sort the other issue out that you were doing Matt ?
