uncovered the S1 over the weekend and.........
.........the size of the FOOOOOOKIN spider that has crawled into the engine bay and nested on the battery was bloody shockin!!!!!!!!!! 
size of a dinner plate!!! (well....side plate!! 
)
bearing in mind the size of the thing, I thought about it and made a snap decision there and then......
The car has now been handed over to the spider and logbook has been signed and sent off to DVLA.....that was on saturday and i last heard that he has already replaced the starter motor and thinks the intercooler was pants!!!
again, due to the size of him....i'm incline to agree with him!!!
due to me HATING spiders and can't even go near a dead one......HOW THE HELL DO I EVICT THIS THING without killing it??
ASK HIM NICELY?????

i have considered the old 'deodorant can and lighter' flame thrower esq type thing but thought that may be a little 'severe' on the polished wing area!!!

...turns out my old mum got to it after i left on saturday!! there were actually two!!! here is the photo she took....
(and yes....she had just come back from combat in the desert and hadn't changed her uniform at the time of taking photo of the two 'english' residential, non-threatening spiders!!!! )

Now being an Arachnophobic I can relate to Keith's situation. Now, Spider's don't like noise, which is why it's vary rae to find one in your car if a you have a sub in the boot 
There's too things you can do here keefy my boy.
1) Bite the bullet and set fire to the fucker
2) Play some satanic metal / rock through a megaphone for about 6 hours a day each day. That will soon fuck him up, or start the car up, and leave it idling for 30 mins each hour

I am a total wuss when it comes to spiders - the noise thing works though!!!
Left my window open one night and woke up in the morning to see a spider on the ceiling! freaked me right out! I didnt know what to do so I tried to scare him with some music! Ended up playing some stuff called "Speedcore" on full volume! NEver seen a spider move so fast...
... bad thing was he went down the wall and hid behind the radiator!

why don't you pour some shutz or other body sealer on it... it won't hurt your s1... infact the more protecttion you get on old ford metal the better and the spider will be protected from rust for up to 5 years
