I feel for your loss, but I said that too, after losing 3 within 3 weeks but after 3 years, I couldn't stand being without a dog around the place. Time does heal and you can look back with good memories of your best pal.

I lost one of my shepherds 18 months ago after a long fight against cancer, but I still see her on occasions. Whether her appearances are real or imaginary you never forget a friend.

I have a dog, I got him when he was a puppy and I was single, he made me feel a lot less lonely, he was brilliant company, great fun and he means the world to me and is now part of my new happy family, I would be devastated if he died so I can only sympathise with you on your loss mate

Thanks for all your kind words folks, my vet came to our place even though she wasn't working today. She was crying with me and Mandy, such a lovely person. She called Bill 'her dog' in her practice, loved him very much. She had only just come back to work from maternity leave last monday, it's like Bill waited the last few weeks to see Marit before he left us. She could do anything to him and he would just lie there and let her do anything.
She said she saw her first English Bully in Norway walking in the hills and fell in love with them then, she was only a student.

Life sucks.

Ade & Mandy.

Nah, never get another one, lost Bills half sister december 2000, that hurt so much. I've spent the last 5 years waiting for this to happen, knowing just how much it was going to hurt and I wasn't wrong
Thanks for the kind words.
I know exactly what you mean there. I lost my horse just over a year ago and it hurts like hell, i absolutely dread the day i will loose Suzie (my dog) as i know exactly how it's gonna feel and it really is devastating. As Stu said Suzie has been in the vets for an operation and i spent last night thinking this is what it will be like when she is gone

Some people don't understand how badly it affects us, they can't understand how we can be so upset over a pet. But i was devestated and it still hurts like hell to this day. I have lost relatives that didn't affect me as badly as loosing my horse did.

I know exactly how you feel and my thoughts are with you
Thanks Nicole, It's hard. Thanks so much.

awww im sporry to hear that. It hurts like hell.

Used to have 2 yorkies, the little girl died in my mums arms when she was 12. It was awful and i knew it was going to be worse when my other one dies, i was closer to him. He suffered kidney failure and was in and out of the vets on drips for months. Eventually it stopped working and he was put to sleep in my arms. It was completely heartbreaking. That was 2 1/2 yrs ago, and its brought tears to my eyes even now.
Took a long time to be able to think about having another one, 18 months ,but we got a 9week pup and he's fantastic, hes 1 next month.

Nige, you live in Bristol don't you? Give my vet Marit a call 01179530707. She is the kindest, most caring person.

I totally know how you feel mate. I just had to take my dog to the vets and he had to be put down. He was fine yesterday morning and then last night he had a stroke so i had to rush him to the vets and they hoped the injection they gave him would make him better but he didnt respond to it. I'm proper gutted.

sorry for your loss.

Stuart.

Thanks Nat, we hurt so much. Our home is no longer a home, it's just a house without Billy, just an empty box.

As soon as I learn to post pictures I will put some of my little man up so you can all love him as we did.
