Default Advice please

Ok, a car was sent into a garage over 12 month ago, if not 2 years, to have an uprated gearbox and clutch, the gearbox has gone again on a new owner so they have had the clutch and gearbox out, and guess what they are both standard, but the guy who paid for them paid for uprated one's.

Now if we contacted Trading Standards i know they are unlikley to do anything even though I have an invoice etc, but do you think they would start looking at the company for other peoples sake if we complained??

Cheers

Probably - Would imagine you would need some sort of proof that the box and clutch is completely standard though.

Worth a shot IMO

I would be contacting the company to see what they have to say. Something may be able to be sorted amicably between you

A certain well known tuner charged me for an expensive headgasket on my first rebuild and when it blew up it didn't have the item in there. My invoice for the work clearly stated it was there though

as long as it says uprated bits on the reciept then there should be no problem.

as long as the bits that have been put on are not classed as uprated by the garage that fitted then.

i remember another garage,in the herts area, who got the uprated cossie head gasket confused for the standard one ,and visa versa, until someone pointed it out to him who bothers to put a normal h/gasket on anyway?
