Well as i have them here (yes, literally right next to me ) ive jsut checked...
Yes they ARE 'E' marked so road legal
Tho have less grooves than just about any road legal tyre ive ever seen
No idea about price, i just looked em up on the internet and not even much mention of em there.
My guess is v.expensive
Made in Japan, which is wierd really as thought all other dunlops were made in the UK.
Whatever they are, they sooo cool im in two minds to even put em on the car they look so nice

I use dZ02G on my <cough> Evo. Best tyre Ive ever driven on but the downsides are shortish tyre life (estimated 4000miles), lots of tyre noise and the fact they are total shite in standing water or snow (obviously!)
In the dry - nothing comes close.

I've used Yoki A032Rs and more recently Yoki A048Rs
R888's are probably about as cheap as you can get for this sort of tyre. Downside is that they are only available in one compound (until early next year) which, luckily for you, is suitable for trackdays.
Yoki's, Dunlops etc are usually available in other compounds as well - hence much more suited for competition use.
Difference between these sorts of tyres and even good road tyres in the dry is night and day... however bear in mind when they "let go" at the limit it happens much more quickly than when on road tyres Ditto most are rubbish when driving through standing water.
Don't expect them to last very long though.
