Default Annoying click (relieved to find cause)

Drove the car today and kept getting a click say every 4 secs regular. But it would stop when the car was not moving. I thought it must be related to the throttle, but it would still do it if the car was moving with the clutch in??

My mind started to pickle, it sounded like it was coming from the relays/ fusebox maybe??? started to annoy me. checked all the trim nothing and the click was to regualr for that, really starting to get on my wick by now.

When i spotted that the trip meter hadnt been reste properly and was reading half a zero, reset it and no more tick.

Oh what a relief, could of been an expensive half push of a button.
