thats far too rich, 11.2 afr would be about right for the boost levels, looking at that graph, its trying to fall off the bottom of the scale its that rich
if the fuel mixture was setup properly, then i rekkon that a few more horses could be squeezed out of the engine easily

esp if there isnt individual injector trim and the inlet means there is a very unequal amount of airflow per cyl.
but still, 10 and less (looks like goes right off the charts) is properly rich.

Why is it so rich? Restrictive exhaust?
Most motors will missfire at this level, in fact, i will be surprised if the HC's on this arent off teh scale too. However, unless we know WHY its been done so rich, theres not a lot can be said. There is defo another 10% or more power in that motor just from leaning, but it will be a brief period of celebration if the EGT's kill all its exhaust valves

stu just badly mapped mate, the engine is a Un known quanitiy so I think it was mapped rich to stop problems. but I think it could go a little leaner as it miss fires at lower boost and is ok at higher boost

steve it was mapped on a well known rolling road, with wide band stuffed up the exhust, so my thoughts are the wide band lamba is not working

I think jonny means the wide band lambda that was used to map it.
If i mapped a car like that on my local RR i would be able to tell it how rich it was even with a fooked sensor. My eyes would be streaming
Mind you could just be their crap extraction

well garage you have got it spot on. The rolling road was demo'd with out extraction. I had to go back to work as I felt sick
The demostrator said he eye's were streaming for ages

the orginal mapping yes Stu. thats what I hope.
Lets just say it was mapped at a well know rr in the midlands.
I don't want to say the mapper or rolling road, but please don't use them for anythink but a power run.

May I just say that I believe Nobles have had issues with their AFR equipment BUT it is correct now.
In the past when I have run cars up for a power run at nobles their AFR readings have been a lot leaner than I have mapped the car.
Thus when cars were mapped on their rollers they were excessively rich on the road.
However Nobles have since renewed/serviced their lambda equipement and last week when we ran Tims ERST up it measured lambda 0.82 exactly as I had mapped it.

20K+ Super Poster.
thats a point. its got a LOT of lag (not boost threshold ) what turbos are they and are they correctly specced to the engine?
i think T4 cossies spool up faster than that
