House alarms any one know anything about um?

Ive just had a new alarm put in my new house and i really think its super shit its a menvier 900 crappo lol.I need advice on what other systems are around and what is good and what is not im after a full lcd screen type alarm with all the gubbons not some 70s looking crap piece which seems to just go off lol.Any alarm experts plz help lol cheers

adt are the one that link up with a monitering place and it automaticaly reports an alarm.
they normally do installiation for next to nothing. but you have to pay a moniterinf fee and i think a maintenance fee as well.
this is where they make their money as they say it needs to be in tip top condition to avoid faulse alarms at their monitering station.
im not 100% on all that i just heard it from my dad who does the goverment buildings alarms.
probably the best bet is to pop round the local fitters and ring round places and get some prices.

I have had one fitted but im really thinking its total shit tbh it is a monitering one.I want a user friendly pad ie lcd where u can see all the options not some 20 year old looking crap.Also i am after nice sensers as the ones they supplyed are crap also.
