Default Anyone here do kickboxing?

I am just about to start, just been finding out about clubs and whatnot in my area and have found a club and spoken to the main guy, so have been told to pop along to the next session, although i am a complete beginner, but reackon its a great way to stay fit, although it clashes with the beds meet, but i can sort that and attend on the wed when the Beds meet is on, seen as i am gonna be making a better effot to attend that as well and be more sociable

anyway is it hard to learn? if your a beginner? and how long before i am gonna be getting all "van damm flying kicks" on ya arses?

I did it for a few years as i got bored of Judo (had been doing it since i was 9!!!) and wanted to learn to defend myself properly being a young single female and all.
Found it quite hard to do the kicks at first but the punches and elbows were easy as i had a lot of steam to let off. I'm quite tall so wasn't as fast as the smaller girls but really enjoyed it. I went to King's School of Kickboxing in Beckenham.

I do thai boxing (been doing it for a good few years now) - i absolutely love it & in my line of work (bouncer) it's helped me out of a few situations too. I dont have fights anymore, there more like someone gives it large & i sort it within a few seconds lol
