306TD gets my vote, few minor issues like the drivers door catching fire all the time, but fundamentally a really good package

Have to say as much as despise french pile of shite cars one of those are probably your best bet...... personally I'd go for a TDCi Fiesta but they're a bit more than £3k at the moment.

I would just get a basic Fiesta or Corsa until you can get that 1st years NCB. As a new driver you have next to no chance of getting a good deal on your insurance. My brother paid £1400 TPFT on his Nova 1.2 at 17

Get your own insurance Danielle - you'll regret it in the long run if you don't..............I moaned at 17 having to insure a car myself but by the time I was 22 I had full protected NCB and at 20 I had a Mk 2 XR2 in my own name (yes, it was a long time ago !!!! )

i'd agree with getting your own insurance if you can. its hard at first but im 20 now and ive got 3 years no claims. im now insuring a group 7 car fully comp for 700 quid!

if u shop about a lot u can get cheap insurance. i was getting crazy quotes when i was 17. in the end i managed to insure my 1.3 sr nova for £1100.

i knows it over double what the cars worth but not bad for a first years insurance really.

good luckw ith what ever u do, and remember the most important thing is to get on the road!

A Fiesta 1.25 is a good car to start off with, also a SEAT Ibiza TDi ain't bad either.
