ST220 Is
285 Nm at 4900 min-1 (rpm)

And yours (Standard is)

360 Nm at 1800 min-1 (rpm)

you have more as standard so chipped

As tiff knows I am looking a purchasing one, but I think the 220 will take it.

reason why does a 250 torque of a golf do 0-60 in 8 sec. A derv torque band is very small it sort of spiks. so if you could change gear on the spike every gear mabie.
I have driven a 220 and they are proper quick for such a large car. but I want a derv 50 mpg and they feel v quick due to sharp torque spike.

With the Blue fin it changes the power band a fair bit

Standard it pulls hardish from 1850-3250--Small range

Chipped it pulls VERY hard from 1500-4500--BIG range

torque is power without the rpm. Torque is instantaneous acceleration by definition. I respect modern diesels a lot, but simply hate the power delivery. If a car has more power, it will be faster in absoloute terms, no question. A TD makes it's big torque for around 100rpm. You could do the same by feeding 40psi through an rst at 3000rpm for a couple of seconds. As long as my car can make 30mpg, i don't care about the economy. Diesels are just not a good look...

Kinda off topic a bit but a Skodia Fabia Vrs tdi chipped to 165bhp lapped Donington Park at the Tuner GP 2 secs faster than a tuned Volvo V70 with approx 330bhp, and it beat a chipped BMW 530d from West Racing in the 0-60 sprints etc...

People,

Dont confuse how Diesels are compared to a petrol engine that actually revs!

Not at 80 on the cov road at 1 in the morning you dont.

The only give away is the gay blue and red flashin "neons" that come on
