Default Back from Engine Advantages >> DYNOPRINT

So...

After a 17hour trip to England for my stage 3 I still don't know whether to cry or laugh

Started out this morning with 237.9BHP@5691 rpm and 310.6lbft@3625 rpm...
Installed all the stage 3 goodies and raised to boostlevel to 21.7Psi held.

Back on the rollers...

Surprising result... In stead of the "normal" 330BHP, it just went up to 285.5BHP@4524 rpm but the torque however raised to 361.1lbft@3678 rpm.

After 4524rpm turboboost drops really fast...

Now Paul thinks it might be the turbo so he's gonna rebuilt it.
I hope the problem is fixed then...

Must say Paul is a top bloke

I'll scan in the results tomorrow, 'coz I'm just to tired at the moment

What level of boost is this Stage 3 conversion supposed to hold?

If it is 21/22 psi, and the turbo is holding that, then surely the problem is elsewhere??

Best of luck.

@B19-TRB: Speedy G is taking the turbo with him when he's going to Nat Day. He's gonna drop it of at EA on thursday and is picking it up again on monday

@Diablo: It is suppose to hold that, but drops.

Here's the dynoprint....
Dots show power/torque of the first run. (original setup)
The full lines show power/torque of the best run. (stage 3 setup)

Stage 3 never usually means 330 BHP unless you have a T34. I thought that on mine but it is running about 310 - 315 BHP @ 20 -21 psi, Some Stage 3 Cossies running a T3 only give 300 BHP.

Al..

We have a hybrid T34 (360° Trust Bearing & Cut Back Blades)

Paul said it should have hit +300BHP easily, but it just not holding the boost.
There is too much play on the shaft at high revs.

if it's boosting to say 21 at 4500 then by 5500 is on 14, i'm pretty sure it one of those, more the actuator.

unless your turbo really is FOOKED...lol

If you have any doubts about what Paul has said the problem is, take it to someone else.

If Paul has nothing to hide (which I am sure he doesn't) then it will be no problem.

std ESCORT Cossie housing is .63 which is what i have.

but you can fit the .48 for low lag and .55 ( rally car) for less lag than .63

The turbo is going to be rebuilt anyway, too much play to the left and right
