Default Computer Help.........

Im trying to copy data onto a cd-r but it keeps getting an error and fooooking the disc up so i have to bin it!!
It can happen at any time! and usually takes until i get to the 3rd or 4th disc before its copied!
I dont have any probs copying music, it seems to work fine every time, its just with data, i.e folders and files.
Is there anything im doing wrong? Do i need to change the settings or something?
Pleeeeassseeeeee help as im buying packs of 10 and bunging away 6 or 7 of them

First one to help will receive a shiny drinks coaster

try burning at a lower speed? might help

make sure you files are the direct path to them instead of shortcuts.

To lower the speed look for the drop down list on the same page as you click "burn"

Will read something like 32X, 16X, 10X, 4X

Drop to 10 or 4 to be safe. Has certainly helped me before.

Aha, Finally found the speed setting! It was set to fastest I've taken it down to 8x, is this a good speed? Im copying about 650mb of data to disc, is it gunna take days?
I usually do it in chunks of 50mb or so rather than drag all 650mb across, is this worth it or does it make no difference?
Thanks for your input, Much Appreciated!
