Help - Mechanic Needed
Okay so I need a few bits doing on my car!
I'm not stupid and changed the turbo and actuator and valve stem sils on my fiesta turbo (under the supervision of my boyfriend at the time)
Now split with boyfriend and need to change the brake fluid master cylinder as it is leaking and also have a coolant/water leak.
Dont really want to throw loads of money away paying a garage to do the work, so i need a mechanic!!
I dont want to just give my car to someone and let them do it! I want to be involved, I want to learn and know what is going on with my car
So is anyone up to the challenge?? Obv we can negotiate payment etc!

I predict LOTS of offers of free help from the "desperate for a girlfriend" element on here.
They will all say they will do it just to be nice and cause they want to be you friend etc.

To be honest. Just buy a Haynes book for the Escort mk4. Master cylinder is a bolt off, bolt on type job. Involved, but not impossible if you're a relative newbie to this. Just take your time, and don't cross thread anything. Oh and avoid getting brake fluid everywhere. Wear some gloves if you've got any. Bleeding may be harder as you'll need a suitable assitant.
Coolant leak, is just a case of gettting a torch and looking around the engine and hoses when the cars hot. See where its leaking. Though my guess would be heater matrix or Water pump (might need to take the upper belt cover off)
Good Luck, as unlike a lot of people at least you admit you don't know everything.

They come on this board quite a lot under the user name of B.A.R
I use them for my Fezzie & Cabbie, Bish uses them for his Focus Rs and the 2 lads there (Liam & Keir) have a S2 Rs Turbo and a minty mint mint mk1 Escort.

Just took the turbo off to get serviced... new oil seals and bearing, just got myself mint bonnet, front/rear bumpers, kit... now need to look at the loss of compression on number 3
Next on the list some white comps

Glad you have decided to fix the car! Good luck! It doesn't sound too bad, you could always replace the turbo with a T3!
You can buy a panel for around the filler car to get rid of the *little* problem you have there!

Still speak to him alot haven't seen him for a while, we have both been bit busy! Dont live near him now so it's harder to meet up!
