if u have your car live mapped do u have to have it checked
i had mine live mapped and the fans come on when u turned the iginition on now all of sudden they have reverted back to coming on when engine gets to hot
any ideas anyone have checked fuses and they r ok

 

What car? Does the ECU have any control over the cooling fans?

The cooling fans are not meant to come on when the engine is too hot, but to prevent the engine from getting too hot.

Why would you want the fans on when the engine is stone cold ?

 

they have fixed a "fault" as it wasnt supposed to run on fan and would have thought it would affect mapping if engine wasnt up to temp

 

my saff ran the fans when warmed up,seems ur angry over a correctly running system!

 

exactly?!?!?! fans on from stone cold aint a good thing, u should be thankful

 

all i know is i paid a lot of money for the live mapping and obviously dont want the expense of another rebuild so just checking

The Sapphire ECU will not control the cooling fans although the late cars with air con was tied into the management in some way...

I will also add that you can't map a car properly that isn't up to the correct operating temperature.

the fans are a seperate loom all together nothing to do with the mapping or anything else

did the fans use to come on when u turned igntion on when cold before mapping?

if they did then the people who mapped your car repaired the fault so they work normally as they should

you dont want your fans on all the time from cold either
